About Unionville MiniTHON

The goal of Unionville MiniTHON is simple; we aim to unite the student body and surrounding community of Unionville High School around the noble cause of raising money for pediatric cancer.

Our Mission

Who We Are

“MiniTHON” is a high school adaptation of Penn State’s THON. The proceeds from events at Penn State and at high schools across Pennsylvania that hold MiniTHON’s go to Four Diamonds, a charity that works with the university to conquer pediatric cancer. Donations that Four Diamonds receives from organizations who participate in THON or MiniTHON go to the Hershey Medical Center, where it is used for treatment, bills, and therapy for children and their families, as well as the Penn State College of Medicine, where it funds research.

What We Stand For

UTHON is the largest service club at Unionville High School. Our club, founded in 2016 by then-Unionville student Sophie Wilkes, began as a small group of friends who were passionate about Four Diamonds’ cause. Over the past eight years, UTHON has grown into a club with over 125 members and has raised over $464,463.24
since its founding.

UTHON is a presence at Unionville; students and staff are seen participating in Gold Out sports games (gold being the ribbon color for pediatric cancer), Dine and Donate fundraisers, Landhope car washes, and more. We have worked to make an impact on other UCFSD schools, introducing events such as Patton MiniTHON, babysitting nights and elementary school cooking classes.

#ForTheKids

Our biggest event of the year -- simply dubbed “UTHON” -- is an overnight event at Unionville High School. From 8 PM to 6 AM, high school students can participate in yoga and Zumba, enjoy snacks from donors, play with puppies from local rescues, and dance to the DJ’s music with friends. This event generally takes place in April and serves as our biggest fundraiser of the year, often generating nearly half of our funds.

We are so grateful for those who participate in UTHON each year. After all, everything we do is #FTK -- For The Kids®!
