Get Involved

There's a way for everyone to become involved in UTHON.

Apply

Committee applications open in May of each academic year. Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be notified via email and social media. To apply, students will fill out a Google Form. They may indicate a preference for a certain committee.

General membership applications open in September of the new school year. Student of all grades may become a general member.

Interview

Committee applicants are required to have an interview with Mrs. Dilworth. Interview will be conducted in May and June before the close of the school year. Students will hear back in mid- to late-June.

General membership applicants are not required to interview.

Our Commitees

With 8 different committees within UTHON, every student can find a group that best fits them. Read more to see how each of our committees tackle different tasks to help us raise the most funds and awareness possible.

Leadership

Our overall leadership team is comprised on our faculty advisor, Mrs. Dilworth, and our student co-chairs Mia Ciarlante, Luke Stokes and Ceci Sanders. Our leadership team oversees committees and runs our events as a whole.

Event Planning

The event planning committee is primarily responsible for creating the schedule of events at UTHON and Patton MiniTHON. This committee also sets up smaller fudraisers, such as Flamingo Fever and the Landhope Car Wash.

Fundraising

The fundraising committee aims to gain corporate sponsorships (in the past, we have been sponsored by Wawa, Baccellieri Family Dentistry, and the UHS Student Council, to name a few). They also work with event planning to facilitate smaller-scale fundraisers such as Bingo Boards and the Landhope Car Wash.

Social Media

The social media committee is responsible for UTHON graphics and advertising. Members of this committee run the Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok accounts; they also create the ads and content that are seen on these accounts. Social media has also been responsible for photography, presentations, and the UTHON pinboard in the UHS cafeteria.

Gold Out

Seen a UCFSD student wearing a gold shirt? Chances are, the gold out committee is responsible; this committee designs the gold shirts (gold for pediatric cancer) and plans each of the gold out sports games. They also facilitate the sale of these shirts and other UTHON merchandise.

Hospitality

The hospitality committee is responsible for all of the food at any UTHON event. This group contacts local restaurants to set up Dine and Donate fundraisers; they also plan food at UTHON and Patton MiniTHON and run other food-related fundraisers, such as Krispy Kreme.

Outreach

Outreach, our newest committee, communicates with Patton and UCFSD elementary schools to set up fundraisers and events that reach beyond UHS alone. In addition to reaching out to other schools within the district, outreach plans age-specific events such as Ms. Daly's cooking classes and babysitting nights

General Membership

If students don't wish to be on a committee or miss the application deadline, they can opt to be general members of UTHON. These members fundraise for FourDiamonds and help out at UTHON, Patton MiniTHON, and other large events. General members are given a leg up in the following year's interview process.
